The Closing Scenes of the Life of Christ
Sunday  Monday  Tuesday  Wednesday  Thursday  Friday  Saturday

"It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross. " from the Story of Jesus Christ

Devotionette
Daily Light on the Daily Path
Prepared by Jonathan Bagster and Other Members of His family.

One of the most beloved devotionals of all time. Each Morning and Evening devotion is a short Bible study with scriptures from the King James Bible compiled according to a biblical theme, with no anecdotes, commentary, or stories to distract the reader, thus permitting the scriptures to speak for themselves. The devotions are often sequential, carrying a theme from morning to morning or evening to evening.

1 Corinthians - Thirteenth Chapter

If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing. If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.

Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known. But now faith, hope, and love remain -- these three. The greatest of these is love. (World English Bible)

"The Lord desires me to call your attention to the thirteenth chapter of first Corinthians. Read this chapter every day, and from it obtain comfort and strength. Learn from it the value that God places on sanctified, heaven-born love, and let the lesson that it teaches come home to your hearts. Learn that Christ-like love is of heavenly birth, and that without it all other qualifications are worthless." (Quote from Ellen G. White - AUCR, April 15, 1903 par. 2)
